[TUTORIAL] How to set up SoulMS - Updated as of 12/04/2010

You may be downloading a corrupted msv88 download. Try finding another download and see if this helps.

Can someone help out the the NET framework problem please? A few people are getting the same problem... It says 'Setup Error' And nothing else.... :S

thx @Ying because the Installation works now. New Problem, eh. Launching SoulMS, then click Start Game. The HS loads, after a while it says:

Quote :: HackShield Update Error : 0x30000030(805306416)
Can't connect to server.
Please send the detailed information through

´Could not find maplestory client´ thats what i get can someon help me?

EDIT: Now he did find it but the game doesnt pop-up

Make sure in you have SoulMS.exe and HSupdate in the CORRECT folders.

When running SoulMs.exe -> Settings, the directory is CORRECT example default is C:\Nexon\MapleStory\MapleStory.exe
when my one is D:\Games\Nexon\MapleStory\MapleStory.exe

Re-install it and make it the way it's supposed to be.

Adding to that, I installed it in D:/, cause my disk C:/ is frozen so it wont save :L, I did wrong for saving it in D:/?

Uhm.. Mine says "Download HSUpdate.exe and extract it in your GMS v.88 folder" and when I press Ok nothing happens... Any ideas?

I need help, after I click ''Start Game'' I get this following error: error code : -2147467259 (Unspecified error). I have v88, Extracted Hshield to Folder... I even run it as an admin can someone help me?

Is the HSUpdate necessary?

Using the HSShield provided with the Client DL:
1.) Delete default HSShield.exe in your HSSHield Folder.
2.) Place the HSSHield.exe you get from the Download into the HSShield Folder
3.) Try again.
4.) ???

Well, that didn't really answer my question. I was just wondering is it absolutely necessary to have HSUpdate/shield whatever it was? Would it ruin the gameplay for other v88 servers?

I used the HS****.ext from the client download, but I made sure I had a copy of the old one just in case.

I was just wondering what it does, since this server has very different startup techniques than I'm used to.

when i get to the character screen, and click my character and then type my PIC, i d.c and then it says you have been disconnected from the server.. why is this happening? im eager to log on.

You probably just normally dced and there was no problem in soulms.Probably just you

I have the problem of when ever i i create a char. i d/c right after like 2 secs.

it shows up no errors. Just d/cs

i'm having the same problem for other servers too

But it doesnt come out with that. It only says Account database offline. Check on the website for morei nformation

Okay, so i downloaded everything, and im pretty sure its all in the right folder, but when i click on the SoulMS.exe, absolutely nothing happens. any clue whats wrong?
