Insane Lag...

So I just joined SoulMS yesterday, (January 8th, 2011), and I've noticed an insane amount of lagging and lag spikes. I do have a dinosaur of a computer, but it shouldn't be lagging this much. Is it just me, or is the server going through something?

P.S; I already have my in-game graphics turned down all the way.

I've been perfectly fine all day long. Granted, I was AFK for long periods of time, but the time I was on I experienced little-to-no lag. If I may, I'd suggest downloading two programs called Advanced SystemCare and Game Booster. If you really do have a dinosaur of a computer, then this won't make it completely better, but it should help a bit. GL!~

Make sure you don't have a bunch of other programs open if you're lagging that bad, because it's probably contributing to your lag. Maybe a restart would help? I'm no computer genius, but what I said should help a bit (;

No, I'm not from Singapore, I'm from Canada.
& I'm not sure about the download. I got it to lag a little less, I only have Lag spikes now, which I can deal with.
I'm a little hesitant about the download because how am I sure you're not trying to plant a virus on me?
ahah, sorry, I'm just really cautious, I've already caused a virus on this computer & it's the family PC, so I don't wanna screw it up again...

Daaavid, i'm pretty sure it's not a virus, because it's from an official website, i guess you just can download it, no risks.

Some simple things you can do to increase your computer speed are:
-Organize your desktop into folders. Having many icons on your desktop actually slows down the copmuter.
-Make sure your CPU usage isn't spiking in random programs (Ctrl Alt Del -> Processes)
-Check for viruses(Virus Scan)
-Close programs that you are not using at the moment.
-Uninstall useless junk, old games you dont play. (Such as, old private servers and also any installers such as v83 Download, v90 Download, etc. (Those are very big files.))

Overall, just organize and clean your computer.

I have a high-end pc (i7 860, 4gb ram and a hd5870 1gb vga), i'm not having graphic lag, but serious connection lag i guess...

i'm from brazil but have a 20mb connection, it was ok 2 days ago and now the mobs take 1s to take the hit D: and i can't loot because of the lag, only like 1 loot every 2-3 seconds...

what happened? D:

Sometimes, the server lags. I guess nothing you can do about it, however you may try a gamebooster type of fix.
