Utterly annoying HackShield.

Well, I've downloaded the necessary stuff, tried setting up and ultimately got a HackShield error. I browsed the forum, did exactly as what is said in Kristine's guide but nope, not working. I re-installed and stuff then noticed something weird about the HSUpdate.exe file.

The HSUpdate file here says it's created today. Edit: Well, when my cursor goes over it, it says it's created today but in the sidebar, it says modified 19th Jul 10.


I go in my HShield Folder and...


It shows it's created in 19th July 2010.

I'm not sure if it's my settings to SoulMS but here's a pic.

So could someone advise me on what to do?

Heres my advice...
Follow this very carefully:
Okay first off, download THIS
There should be 2 things in there: SoulMS.exe and HSUpdate.
What you do is put the SoulMS.exe into your maplestory folder where your maplestory.exe is
Then you put the HSUpdate into your HShield folder in your Maplestory folder and replace the one already existing in there.
After that, you should open SoulMS.exe, type in your ID and PW then click settings go into your v88 folder and select maplestory.exe (NOT SoulMS.exe)
Then check off 'Launch Maplestory automatically' and save changes.
Then click login and it should open up a browser (http://soulms.net/fixhs/)
Then just [x] it out and [x] out the popup that also says "Download HSUpdate.exe & extract it in your GMSv88 folder."
Now, the launcher should pop up.
Click Game Start and hopefully HShield will run and you'll be able to log on.

I did exactly what you said bout 5 times, never worked. And if you've noticed from the screenshots, I already mentioned I did those stuff.

try turning off firewall?
