How to fix HS Problem :D works 100% *~*

Heres my guild how to fix HS problem

kk first download the downgrader

now go into C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc find and open hosts in word and add a # in front of guard.nexon.net it should look like this after

now use the downgrader ea time before launching soulMS game
works 100% i checked it on 5 computers

Sooo confusing. Im in the system 32 folder now what?

From the guide above, once you're inside of the System32 Folder, go to the 'drivers' folder, then go to the 'etc' folder inside.

From there, go find the file called 'hosts' (which will just be in a .file format).

Open that file, and it should come up with the option to open the file with a different program (because you really can't open a .file program with the default programs in Windows). Once you open it with Notepad, you'll be able to edit the contents inside like he has shown above.

Ok i did everything in the guide. I stil dont understand what this is supposed to do.

It doesn't work.

If all else fails, you're best off downloading the Maplestory.RAR folder from the SoulMS.net download site.

That folder is flawless. No installation required either.

after you do this you can Downgrade everytime and HSUpdate will work

You might want to reword and explain more thoroughly.
There are alot of early teenagers here so they might not understand as well as some of us here

is my host thing supposed to look like this?

Oh, and when I make changes, I can't even save it.

uhm it's even easier to just delete the line concerning nexon. That's what i did, and not a single error ever since.

Do you have permission, Paradise? Are you logged on as Admin and opened the file as Admin?

Aaaaahhhh, administrator. Forgot about that.
I'll try it, but before I go bat shat crazy on it, should I do as Nickster says and delete it, or make it just like the forum says...? :l

well deleting it just resets it, if you try opening the game after you've deleted it and then you look back at your host file you'll see there is a line with Nexon in it again.

Still doesn't work.
I don't know how I can get v90 to work but not v88 >.>

If you cannot edit it right click the host file.From there there should be a option saying [hidden] or [read only].Click hidden-edit the file-put it back to read only
