Seeing as 99% of the the applications on here are more boring than watching the price is right with my grandparents, i thought i'd make a post on what NOT to do, because i kinda get the feeling you guys aren't too smart as to take example of Kristine's fierce ass application.

Alright, lets get startedsecret.

What are you applying for: GM(Game master)

Name : Earl

Thank you.

Simple questions. (1-2 word replies please)
1.Do you know the players/staff well enough to be chosen?(This doesn't mean have you met the GMs/spoken to them once. Do you actually KNOW them. Please stop writing "Yes" when none of us know you. Thank you): Yes
2.Have you been on Soul MS long enough to deserve a GM position: Yes
3.Do you help players any chance you get: Yes, ask the players they all will say i help a lot
4.Are you of the age that is required to apply(if no you might as well delete this app now): Yes
5.Please specify exactly(or around) how long you have been playing Soul MS: 2 hours

Okay, recap time (:.
Although this is an exaggeration(a pretty big one at that), it basically sums up what a lot of people do. Bland, boring answers that frankly nobody wants to waste even a minute reading. Even a long explanation about yourself doesn't mean anything if it doesn't captivate the people reading, ESPECIALLY the people that evaluate/decide on whether or not you should be a GM.

Things to point out in this app/things you really don't want to do:

Although this is an exaggeration(a pretty big one at that), it basically sums up what a lot of people do. Bland, boring answers that frankly nobody wants to waste even a minute reading.

Some broken english; you usually make a better impression if your app has nice, easy to read english(recapping on what Anna said about "dnt tlk lik diz"). Even if you say things like "my english is not good", that's all the more reason to type it out nicely, it'll show that you actually tried your hardest to get your points across regardless of the fact you don't speak it well.

Spelling mistakes; This one doesn't really need a long explanation. If your app has spelling mistakes that means you spent very little time on your app, and didn't proof read it over. The little red lines appear for a reason, yaknow?!

Almost no personality; Again, this one doesn't need a big explanation. You should be making an effort to express YOUR unique personality, even more so if none of the players/GM's know you well.

Not following the format; even though i followed the format in this horrible app, there are people who do this regardless. If you didn't even make the effort to read the outlines for the apps, then why should they waste their time making you a GM?

Forgetting the 5 questions; iv'e seen this a number of times. It pretty much intertwines with the not following the format. Don't read the outline, your most likely not becoming a GM in SoulMS anytime soon.

Writing too much in your 5 questions; guys, i know it might be tempting to explain and what not, but theres really no need. The entire reason they say one to two word responses is because thats really all they need.

Lying about your age; Yeah, this has happened before, don't even waste your time. They'll find out and then your chances are pretty much zero to none even after your 14.

Copying and pasting from other servers; Really now? This is the epitome of a lazy and effortless person. Don't think they won't find out either, it's not that hard to see if you've used that app/a very similar one on another server.

Under the required age (14); Kbye Smile.

On-forum mistakes aren't the only way to screw up your chances, try not to mess up in game either:

Getting into an argument with players/GMs; Nobody want's a GM that nobody can get along with.

Making a bad first impression to the GM's; You're basically screwed. Try to at least SEEM good for a first impression, because honestly it's pretty hard to work yourself back out of that ditch.

Asking other players/ a GM if your app was good/respond to your post; Although technically they're not asking you to read it, this is still pretty annoying(well at least i think so). If a GM likes your app, they'll possibly post some positive feedback. If there were some things you could do to change it they'll say so. If it's a waste of time, they won't even respond. Regardless of what they do, they don't need YOU reminding them of THEIR job.

Well that's all i can think of at the moment as for what you DON'T want to do. I tried to make this as blatant and straight forward as i could so you all can understand it (:. I'm not telling you to make a perfect app, heck i probably made a grammar mistake somewhere in here or made an unclear point, it's only natural to make SOME mistakes.

Also take note that i'm not really complaining about your applications(for people who've applied before this), but trying to help out all the new comers so they know how you don't want to make an app What a Face. As for you people who don't get accepted, no need to QQ to the GMs and ask why you didn't get accepted, it's probably because you screwed up on something listed here.

Should have made it 13-. Would have been instantly 2x as good in our opinion.
